What to Check Before Travelling with Intimate Products

Travel locks, batteries, screening and packing that draws no attention.

Travelling with products is uneventful for almost everyone. A few habits keep it that way.

Lock it, charge it, pack the cable

Engage the travel lock on any rechargeable product before packing; a product switching on in a bag is the most common travel embarrassment. Charge before leaving and pack the cable, particularly for magnetic-charging designs whose cables are proprietary.

Batteries and security screening

Rechargeable lithium products generally belong in carry-on luggage under most airline rules; check your airline's current guidance. Security screening staff see these products routinely. A padded pouch that looks like a toiletry bag keeps things unremarkable if a bag is opened.

What to bring

Small, quiet, sealed and simple travels best.

  • One compact product with a travel lock
  • Travel-size water-based lubricant, within liquid limits
  • A lined pouch
  • The charging cable
  • Barrier products, stored away from heat

A note on destinations

Laws about adult products vary between countries, and a few restrict import or possession. Check before travelling to unfamiliar destinations; this book does not track legal requirements by country.
